Provisional Funds are temporary funds established at the community foundation to raise funds for a specific need or project in the area. Tax deductible donations for these funds may be made through the community foundation, and will be placed in a sub-fund created for that need or project. Once the financial goal for the provisional fund is met, the cumulative donations will be returned to the organization for use as stated.
Downtown Parsons Art Initiative Sub-Fund

Downtown Parsons is seeking to enrich the cultural heritage and appearance of the downtown by adding pieces of art. The Downtown Parsons Art Initiative is accepting donations to purchase bronze statues depicting the history of Parsons. This would not only enhance the downtown, but also honor our history for future generations to come.
Downtown Parsons Inc. is a volunteer driven community-wide effort to make Parsons a better place to work and live by revitalizing its downtown. The members of the Downtown Parsons organization focus time, expertise and enthusiasm in four areas: Design, Organization, Promotions, and Business Enhancement.
We are an award winning Main Street Organization, and have been recognized at both the national and state levels for our community’s accomplishments.

Tolen Creek Art Project Sub-Fund
The Parsons Arts and Humanities Council is collecting donations to place Stan Herd artwork along the Tolen Creek walking trail, near the junction of the 59 and 400 highways. The famous artist Stan Herd creates images, also termed Earthworks, on large areas of land, especially in Kansas.
This drawing shows the proposed sculptures of a Native American head, and a turtle depicting the Iroquois Indian legend of the world being created on a turtle’s back. The drawn in human figures are in perspective to the size of the sculptures.
There have been many generous donors to this fund, but several thousand more dollars are still needed to contract with Stan Herd.You may donate to this fund online, or by mailing a check to the Parsons Area Community Foundation, P.O.
