Carol L. Carland

Carol L. Carland, 78, of Parsons, passed away at 7:36 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on June 21, 1945, at Fort Smith, Arkansas to Thurman and Willie (Trotter) Lee. She grew up in Fort Smith, Waldron, Arkansas, and Parsons. She graduated from Parsons High School in 1963 and then attended Parsons Junior College.

Carol worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center for many years retiring as a staff trainer in 2006. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, baking, and most of all her grandchildren. She and Michael Carland were married. They later divorced.

Carol is survived by her three daughters, Bridget May, and her husband, Dale of Pittsburg, Susan Carland of Parsons, and Michelle Almond of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren, Lauren Carland, Andrew Sanford, Michael Price, Caitlin Almond, Paige Varner, Lydia May, and Emilee May; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Meara, and James; her brother, Darrel Halstead of Moore, OK; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Billy Floyd Lee and Eddie Michael Lee.
